Liesbet is scientific coordinator of Prometheus, a musculoskeletal Tissue Engineering platform. Her scientific accolades include having received three prestigious European Research Council grants and an honorary doctorate of the University of Amsterdam. She is executive director of the Virtual Physiological Human Society, an international non-profit organization advocating the use of in silico modeling in healthcare through engagement with the clinical community, policy makers, regulatory agencies and patients. She coordinated the ecosystem building and writing of the roadmap for the Virtual Human Twin initiative.
