ESTIV 2026 | News update
The preparations for the congress are moving into their next phase, and we are happy to keep you up to date on the latest developments. Interest from partners and participants continues to grow. As a result, only a small number of exhibition opportunities remain available. In this edition, we also introduce another keynote speaker who will be joining the programme. With the Early‑Bird period coming to an end in only a few days, we would like to remind participants that this is the final opportunity to register at the reduced rate. We are pleased to introduce Professor Liesbet Geris as a keynote speaker at ESTIV 2026. Liesbet Geris is Professor of Biomechanics and Computational Tissue Engineering at the University of Liège and KU Leuven in Belgium, and a member of the Royal Belgian Academy of Sciences and Arts. Together with her clinical and industrial collaborators, she and her team develop advanced in silico and in vitro technologies to study skeletal degeneration, regeneration and tissue engineering. She is the scientific coordinator of Prometheus, a musculoskeletal tissue engineering platform, and has received multiple prestigious distinctions, including three European Research Council grants and an honorary doctorate from the University of Amsterdam. Liesbet Geris also serves as Executive Director of the Virtual Physiological Human Society, promoting the use of computational modelling in healthcare through engagement with clinicians, policy makers, regulators and patients. In addition, she coordinated the ecosystem building and roadmap development for the Virtual Human Twin initiative. Beyond her research, she is a sought‑after speaker on topics such as interdisciplinarity in science, women in academia, and digital healthcare.
