ECOPA Award – Best young scientist contribution at the ESTIV 2024 congress in Prague

Description
The board of ecopa will grant a 500€ best contribution (poster or oral presentation) to a young scientist (≤ 30 years old) presenting a work that is related to the 3Rs’ mission of ecopa and which is outstanding in the area of New Approach Methodologies (NAMs), either as original research topic or dissemination of the principles. The selection will consider the originality and the effectiveness of the contribution as well as the commitment to promoting NAMs in the scientific environment. Eligibility criteria require that the applicant is the first author, and that he/she is participating in ESTIV 2024. There is no restriction on academic qualification.

Applicants are requested to submit their interests in participating in the ecopa award to best young scientist contribution by sending an email to costanza.rovida@chimici.it (President of ecopa) and in cc to stefano.lorenzetti@iss.it (vice President of ecopa). Please, clearly specify in the subject: ecopa Best young scientist contribution ESTIV 2024.

The email for the application should contain the following attachments:

EPAA travel grants to attend the ESTIV 2024 Congress in Prague

The European Partnership for Alternative Approaches to Animal Testing (EPAA) provides grants to help students and young scientists with outstanding work in the field of alternative approaches attend a high-profile scientific events. All grants cover the reimbursement of the event registration fees for the scientist, as well as travel and accommodation fees, based on expense receipts. This year, a full grant of €1000 and a half grant of €500 will support travel to the 22nd International Congress of the European Society of Toxicology In Vitro (ESTIV; June 3-6, Prague, Czech Republic): apply by April 15.

L’Oréal Travel Grants to attend the ESTIV 2024 Congress in Prague

We are excited to announce the availability of L’Oréal Travel Grants for the upcoming ESTIV 2024 Congress.  L’Oréal Research & Innovation is pleased to sponsor 5 travel grants worth 800 euros each.

Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible for the L’Oréal Travel Grants, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • The author should be less than 35 years old.
  • The poster or oral communication (as the first author) should be accepted by the ESTIV 2024 Congress Committee.
  • Research topics should fall within the following categories: Data science, complex systems to predict toxicity, or computational modeling.

Application Deadline: The deadline for submitting the application is April 30, 2024.

Application Process: Interested individuals should indicate their interest in the L’Oréal Travel Grants by sending the following documents to the ESTIV 2024 Congress Committee at grants@estiv.org and Mrs. Bambou TAN at bambou.tan@loreal.com:

  • A 1-page Curriculum Vitae (CV).
  • A motivation letter expressing interest in the travel grant.
  • An abstract of the research, that has been accepted for presentation at the ESTIV 2024 Congress.

Please note: The travel awards will be disbursed to selected participants after the congress. Attendance at the ESTIV 2024 Congress is a condition for receiving the award.

ATLA-FRAME Best Poster Award at the ESTIV 2024 Congress in Prague

“On behalf of their ATLA journal (https://journals.sagepub.com/home/atl/), FRAME will grant a monetary award* equivalent to 500 € to the winner of the ATLA-FRAME best poster award at the ESTIV 2024 Congress.

Sage will also offer a year’s free subscription to ATLA for the award winner in addition to the “cash equivalent” award from FRAME.

Toxicology-Elsevier best poster award at the ESTIV 2024 Congress in Prague

Description

The Elsevier journal Toxicology (https://www.sciencedirect.com/journal/toxicology) will grant a 250€ best poster award to a young scientist (≤ 35 years old) presenting her/his research work in the field of mechanistic toxicology per poster as first author during the 22nd International Congress of the European Society of Toxicology In Vitro (ESTIV2024). The winner will be selected based on scientific excellence, innovation and clarity of the poster presentation as well as based on the communication skills of the poster presenter. Eligibility also includes presence during the closing ceremony of the ESTIV2024 congress, as the winner will be announced at this occasion.

 

Selection

No solicitation or application is possible for this award. The winner will be selected by an ad hoc jury consisting of the Toxicology editor-in-chief and ESTIV board members.

ESTIV (The European Society for Toxicology in vitro) will grant the best poster award, including 500 EUR and 1 year (2024) free ESTIV membership, to a PhD student or young scientist (≤ 35 years old) presenting her/his research work in the field of in vitro or in silico toxicology per poster as first author during the EUROTOX 2023 congress.

The winner will be selected based on scientific excellence, innovation, and clarity of the poster presentation. Eligibility also includes presence during the closing ceremony of the EUROTOX 2023 congress, as the winner will be announced at this occasion.

To apply for the ESTIV Best Poster Award the following documents are required:

  • Abstract accepted for poster presentation
  • Finalized poster in pdf form
  • Proof of student status

Applications for the ESTIV Best Poster Award are only possible during the abstract submission process.

After you have submitted your final abstract, you can complete your award application on the abstract platform under the menu item “Your award application”. The deadline for award application is on 17 April 2023.

 

The winners will be selected by an evaluation panel and will be announced during the closing ceremony.

All awards and bursaries will only be paid out if the participant attends the on-site congress. Payment will be made after the congress by bank transfer.

Two ESTIV bursaries for participation in the 2023 ESTIV Applied Training Course

ESTIV is offering a full registration fee waiver for 2 participants attending the “ESTIV Applied in vitro Toxicology Course”, which will take place in Bratislava Slovakia from 29. May to 2 June 2023.

Eligible candidates are PhD students and young scientists (younger than 35 years of age). Preference will be given to applications from ESTIV members.

Two ESTIV travel grants for participation in the 2023 JRC Summer School

The European Society of Toxicology In Vitro (ESTIV) is happy to announce that it will be offering two travel grants of maximum € 500 each to two early career scientists wanting to participate in the JRC Summer School on “JRC Summer School on Non-animal Approaches in Science: Towards Sustainable Innovation“, to be held from 23 May 2023, 10:00 CEST – 26 May 2023, 13:00 CEST at the European Commission Joint Research Centre (JRC) site in Ispra (Italy).

The JRC Summer School is specifically tailored for post-graduate students (e.g. master and PhD students) and early-career scientists (max. 5 years after master/PhD) working in the biosciences and will focus on non-animal methods and technologies and the opportunities and challenges associated with their application in various fields such as regulatory toxicology and biomedical research.   • Applicants should be members of ESTIV. Membership applications can be sought before sending in an application by contacting secretariat@estiv.org and putting grants@estiv.org in Cc.
  • Relevance of current area of study or job to in vitro/in silico toxicology
  • Clarity and relevance of the motivation letter
  • Scientific quality of the poster abstract
  • Priority will be given to applicants who did not receive a grant or award from ESTIV in the past 3 years
