ESTIV Awards at the JSAAE 2025 Congress

ESTIV was proud to present this year’s ESTIV Awards at the JSAAE Annual Congress 2025, recognizing outstanding contributions from early-career researchers advancing non-animal methods (NAMs) and innovative in vitro toxicology approaches.

The award committee recognized two outstanding young scientists for their exceptional oral presentations advancing the field of non-animal toxicology and Next Generation Risk Assessment (NGRA):

🥇 Yi-Ting Lai
“Case studies of NGRA strategy utilizing multiple DASS and RAx: verification in cosmetic ingredient evaluation.”

🥇 Shohei Kaneko
“Prediction of the effects of microplastics on the human body using a physiologically based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) model focusing on immune cells.”

👏 Congratulations to both awardees for their excellent scientific contributions and commitment to advancing innovative, human-relevant approaches in toxicology!

Special thanks to Dr. Yasunari Kanda (ESTIV Board Member, JSAAE liaison) — for participating in the Awards selection and for handing over the certificates to the winners during the JSAAE award ceremony of behalf of ESTIV.
