Prof. Thomas Hartung – recipient of the EURTOX 2021 Merit Award

ESTIV is delighted to share, that Prof. Thomas Hartung is the recipient of the EUROTOX Merit Award for 2021. Congratulations !

Thomas Hartung MD PhD, is the Doerenkamp-Zbinden-Chair for Evidence-based Toxicology at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Baltimore, with joint appointments at The Whiting School of Engineering Molecular Microbiology and Immunology Georgetown University, Washington D.C. University of Konstanz, Germany. He also is the Director of the Centers for Alternatives to Animal Testing (CAAT) in the US and Europe. He is the former Head of the European Commission’s Center for the Validation of Alternative Methods (ECVAM), Ispra, Italy. He is Chief Editor of Frontiers in Artificial Intelligence and has authored more than 580 scientific publications.

ABOUT THE EUROTOX MERIT AWARD

The EUROTOX Merit Award is presented annually at the EUROTOX Congress to a European toxicologist with a long and outstanding career in the discipline. Achievements in academia, public service or industry may be recognized. Emphasis should be put on individual contributions strengthening the science of toxicology.
